I hold such happy memories of Jim when playing violin alongside him in the orchestra. He was an inspiration to continue to play his entire life. He was always so friendly and happy. Blessings. Thank you, Jim.

As timpanist in the Manawatu Sinfonia, we were so lucky to have Jim in our orchestra - his endless good humour, enthusiasm and friendliness to me was always so appreciated, despite the raucous din I often created from the back! He leaves us with lovely memories and endless memorable musical moments - all my aroha to Jim’s family.

Jim was a lovely man who cared deeply for his family, his farm, and his community. He was a welcome presence at any of the Brunswick gatherings. Jim will be long remembered

What a wonderful celebration of Jim's life and his musical talent he shared with so many.
We watched the service online looking across the valley to his Brunswick farm. We look out across the valley to the Chesswas farm with Ruapehu in the background.

Thank for putting the service online. Our condolences to the family. As kids we loved going out to the farm with Mum and Dad. Always loved both Jim and Shirley with their violins and musical talent. Russell & Lois Embling née Chesswas.

So sad to hear of Jim's passing I sat next to him in Sinfonia for many many years, as co-leader and later as leader.I was always amazed at how he maintained his dexterity! A wonderful enthusiastic and optimistic friend and fellow fiddler.
