It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Western.

Much loved son of Mei (Maisie) & Jono Kaa. He was the most protective and loving big brother to Paiheretia, raised with his tuakana James, Gerrard, Joel, Benjamin Paki & Anamaraea. Loved mokopuna to Kori & Te Rangi Hemi, precious nephew to aunty Panz, aunty Ames, uncle Tema & aunty Jaz, (the late uncle Ari & aunty Shabby). Loved by all his cousins, nephews, nieces and especially adored by nga mokopuna tuarua.

Loved and treasured by his Hemi, Rogan, Hau & Waitai whanau.

Western will be lying in state at his home 17 Kiatere Street, Ratana Pa. Nehu on Tuesday 3rd March 2026 at 11am followed by burial at the Ratana Pa urupa.
