Peter, I only knew you for a very short time but your wisdom and kindness shone through especially when lubricated by beer! Sitting in your wonderful garden just a few short months ago it was impossible to imagine that you would have left us so soon. You will be sorely missed by so many, it is a pleasure to have known you if only briefly.

My condolences to you all, especially to his family and his wider WCS family also. I met Peter only briefly when I handed over the History Department to his very capable hands and on a few subsequent visits back, but I knew the very high esteem in which he was held. Thank you for the live stream from the UK. It was a privilege to be with you all.
