I met Tony 18 months ago visiting my mum at the resthome. We formed a great friendship and had nicknames for eachother. His was 'Peanut' and he called me 'Rainbow'. I will miss his humour and friendship as will the ladies who sat in the backrow of the lounge. Condolences to all his family xx

I will miss seeing Tony in "the back row" with his lady friends in the lounge at Jane Winstone, one of them is my mum. He always had a happy greeting and a cheeky smile. My nickname was Shorty. He will be missed. My sympathies to his family.

As an old boy of Whanganui Boys’ College and current Presiding Member, I remember Mr Webby with deep fondness. His wit, humour and support were constant, and even his famous bamboo antics, firm, fair and never with malice, became part of our lore. RIP Mr Webby. We always remember the good ones, and you truly deserved our respect
